Sometimes a family doesn't need a six-month plan. They just need enough help to make it through the next 30 days.

In this episode of Oklahoma City Nonprofits in Action, we sit down with Damien Knight, founder of Knights in Armor, an organization providing immediate assistance to families experiencing financial crisis.

Damien shares the powerful story of a mother of three escaping domestic violence who was trying to rebuild her life, start a new job, and keep a roof over her children's heads. Knights in Armor stepped in to help cover the remaining deposit and rent, giving her the breathing room she needed until her new income began coming in.

We also discuss:

* Emergency financial assistance
* Preventing homelessness before it happens
* Helping families with rent and utilities
* Why short-term assistance can create long-term impact
* Breaking down barriers to receiving help
* Damien's 27-year Army career
* Leadership and mentorship for teenagers
* Serving your local community
* How anyone can "do their part"

Knights in Armor exists to meet people in the middle of a crisis and provide practical help when they need it most.
