Oklahoma City Nonprofits in Action is a podcast dedicated to highlighting the people and organizations meeting real needs across Oklahoma City every day. Each episode features conversations with nonprofit leaders working in areas such as homelessness prevention, foster care advocacy, family services, workforce development, crisis intervention, youth support, and community outreach. The goal of the show is simple: to help more people discover the organizations strengthening the city and encouraging listeners to get involved with them.
Hosted by Jake Doberenz and produced by Theophany Media, a podcast production company that focuses on developing podcasts for nonprofits and social good organizations, the podcast was created out of a belief that many of Oklahoma City’s most important stories are often overlooked. The podcast exists to close that gap by giving nonprofit leaders a platform to share their mission, their challenges, and the ongoing needs within the community.
The first season features 25 nonprofit organizations from across Oklahoma City, with episodes released every other Monday In addition to spotlighting community impact, each episode provides listeners with practical ways to get involved through volunteering, donations, partnerships, and advocacy. Oklahoma City Nonprofits in Action aims to strengthen connections between nonprofits and the broader community while building greater awareness of the work already transforming lives across the city.
