Host, Podcast Producer

Jake Doberenz is the host of the first season of Oklahoma City Nonprofits in Action and the founder of Theophany Media. Originally from Oregon, he has lived in the Oklahoma City metro for the past 11 years and has developed a deep appreciation for the people, organizations, and sense of community that define the city.

Jake has worked in podcasting for six years, producing and developing shows for religious organizations, nonprofits, and mission-driven initiatives. Through that work, he saw firsthand how many important stories often go unheard, despite the life-changing work taking place. So Oklahoma City Nonprofits in Action was created as a way to celebrate the organizations and leaders helping make Oklahoma City stronger, healthier, and more connected.

Beyond podcasting, Jake has remained personally involved in nonprofit work throughout the city. He has served as a volunteer with CASA of Oklahoma County for three years, advocating for children in the foster care system, and also assists with programming for Junior Achievement in Oklahoma City. Before moving fully into media and communications work, he also taught in both public and private schools across the Oklahoma City metro.
